This morning I discovered that I had not opened the sink drain seacock after taking the boat out of the water in the fall. And of course at -20c it has frozen and split. It is a Marelon Flanged Seacock and after 2 hours trying to get it appart after 25 years of being together one of the bolts has broken and it still won't come appart.
It is a MK-V and my question is--- do the bolts go in from the outside?? I would assume they are faired over if so?? And is it a 1/2" or 3/4" valve and thru hull?? I would like to get one ordered while trying to get it appart.
Any advise would be great.
Thanks Jim

Two years ago, it was a small leak from this seacock so i decide to replace it by a bronze one.
Yes indeed, i tried to remove the old one before to reseal it but impossible without damage the plastic one . So I grind by the outside just enough to getting free the tread.
So, you have know 2 bolts left. It is good enough to reinstall a regular bronze seacock . I suggest to put a 1/2 plywood spacer between the hull and the seacok to get more strenght. You can fix the plywood with epoxy using the two bolts left, when it is cure , make and hole and fix the seacock.
I will send you tomorrow a pic of my work, better explanation than my a bit poor english !!
And yes, the bolts pass trough the hull

Hi,
As promise, here a picture of the new seacock and valve. You can also view the hose from toilet to septic tank. To minimise odor, prior to instal my new hose, i cover them with aluminium tape then wrap it with white electric tape. Like that since 2006. Odor free.
Jean :-)
