MKV # 3

Hi

I am in the process of ordering a new #3 (100%) from north and they are asking if I have inner tracks. I have the tracks rear of the stays that run the lenght of the windows and inner tracks on the combing at the rear. I currently trim the 155% from the rear tracks and the 135% from the mid point of the track below the window. Does anyone have a inner track forward of the windows for a #3 and do you have any pic's???

Thanks Jim D

Re: MKV # 3

some MKVs have jib tracks on the cabin top.  Smoke, the factory boat that was raced heavily in the 1980s had tracks on the cabin.  Since you don't, sheeting on the side deck tracks seems to work well in our club.

A #3 is the only sail I have never purchased - the boat is just so fast in 20 knots it has never seemed worth it to me. Several MKVs in our club have changed the battens on the original factory jib to full length - it sure makes that 28 year old sail look better!

Re: MKV # 3

my markv sails with a 135% genoa built by UK in 2002. It doesn't look great. It has no battens. What size was the "factory jib" with battens?

The factory jib was 100%.

Hi.  My 1987 has the same track layout as shown in the diagram under "Sea Change".  Mine came with a self furling 150 Genoa.  I have not seen a layout other than this on a Mk V.  But there are lots of things I have not seen!
