Two Questions about the Mk V

Does anyone have a sail drive on their Mk V?  We have one on Godspeed and although we weren't thrilled with the idea, the motor has performed well.  The second question has to do with the spinnaker pole.  We have a metal post attached to the toe rail about abeam of the mast that we assume is for stowing one end of the pole, but there is nothing at the other end.  The previous owner had his pole stolen, so we never got to see how he stowed it.  Gary

Re: Two Questions about the Mk V

Perhaps the other end fitted in at the base of a stanchion or it may have been tied to the toerail....Ciao...Lou "August" C&C27Mk V

Re: Two Questions about the Mk V

regarding the pole
I have two deck mounted fittings just inside the toe rail - the forward fitting is just aft of the anchor locker, the other 10 foot back.  The pole ends clip onto the fitting.
actually, we carry a whisker pole also, so I have a pair on each side.
when racing we leave the inboard end of the pole attached to the mast with the ring in the lowest position.
It's easy to add fittings - the deck is solid glass just inside the toerail, and there is room beside the liner  underneath to tighten down the nut.
