MKV ice box

I'm about to add extra insulation to my ice box but was wondering if anyone has drilled between the back side of the bulk head(inside starboard cockpit locker) and the ice box to see if there is insulation there. Also between the ice box and from under the sink. I was going to do some exploring there but thought maybe someone has already done this.

I do see that there is plenty of room from the bottom to add 4-6" on the bottom but the sides I'm not sure about.

Thanks in advance

Re: MKV ice box

To me, this icebox is a little bit bizarre and not very fonctionnal. Lack of insulation into the top. put insulation all around will be a little tricky i guess. I will prefer add rigid insulation by the inside. 1 inch blue styrofoam should be good

But for my purpose, i use this icebox for non refregiration stock and a use a standard coleman cooler that i put under the quarter berth.
