I'm a new owner of a C&C27 Mark V. Have a few questions for you if you please,
What is the size of the propeller on a C&C mark V with a Yanmar 1gm10, and the with the maximum RPM recommended, do you reach hull speed ?
Mine looks very underpower.....
Thanks,Jean Rivest,
Sorel-Tracy
Standard fixed blade propeller is 12" x 9" x 78" RH (12 inch diameter, 9 inch pitch, 7/8" shaft diameter). I replaced mine with a 13" x 9" x 7/8" Gori folding prop and it works well. Hull speed about 6 knots max at full engine revs around 3300 RPM. Cruises quite well at 5 to 5 1/2 knots at around 2500 RPM.

Thanks Dragonfly,
I just sail about 1 hour with my new boat, ( trying before buy ), looks very good in pointing, nice boat all around. The seller had never install the babystay, and just cruising in Lake Deschesnes near Ottawa. Babystay is important on this small boat ? never had this on my previous sailboat....
Thanks

the babystay helps to keep the mast from pumping under wavy conditions and get some mast bend with when you tighten the backstay.
From looking at the mast action in waves, I think it would be a good idea to have it on.
