Hi All,
My tiller broke last night while out in 25kts!! Ouch. Luckily it just about held together to get out of trouble.
Any ideas where I can source a new tiller for a Mk V

Hi Rhys. I personally hated the stock tiller on the mark V. I found it sat too low, was uncomfortable and was a bit Ug. I had a C&C 25 previously and had that tiller break on me. I made up a custom tiller from the LAYLINE catalog/website. I bought a J24 upcurved tiller, cut an inch or so off the butt end (to match the previous tillers length). I then got the J24 "stiff" tiller straps. I used a piece of ASH wood and made up "shims" (6"x1 1/2"x3/8?") to make up the width of the rudder and tacked and epoxied them to the tiller. Then I drilled out 3 holes (varnished inside with a Qtip to seal wood) and thru bolted it all together with stainless bolts with nyloc nuts. For both boats I found this package to look great, feel great and SAIL great. I can send photos and more info if you wish. John Persistence 84 Mk V

I have only had the boat a few months and I must admit the tiller is not the most comfortable.
