Having owned my '76 M3 for 3 years, its embarrasing to admit I know more about the Andromeda galaxy than I know about the impeller(s) on my boat - and thus I seek information and guidance. The A4 is fresh water cooled with, what I believe, is a factory installed system rather than a Moyer add on. My question is this: how many impellers do I have and where are (is) they (it)? Can it (they) be replaced easily, and where would I find new ones. Thanks ....

Hi Roger
I, too have a rotted cockpit sole which I discovered when I went to rebuild the manual bilge pump. Extensively wet wood core which I'm going to replace with help from the Gougeon bros. Do you know the exact thickness of the wood core? Balsa or ply?

I'm toying with the idea of installing a cabin sole in my '76 Mark lll as a winter project. I've never seen one in a 27 but have heard rumours of their existence. One sage person whose advice I respect, said that they are made from thin teak/holly veneered plywood and epoxied to the floor. Is that so? Anybody have experience fabricating, installing, repairing or saving their sole?

After noticing that my manual bilge pump doesn't empty the bilge, I shoved the bilge intake end in a bucket of water and noticed that the first stroke of the pump sucks water while the next stroke blows it back, and the water just swirls around. What good is that? Don't know if this is a problem with the bellows or a hose connection or the pump innards. Any similar experiences out there?

Thanks for the info. Drilling and draining will be part of my fall layup for sure. <pre>>Santeria

Hi -This spring I noticed a blister 2/3 of the way down the rudder of my '76 Mark lll. After grinding out a sizeable hole, it appears that moisture has travelled down the rudder post (wheel steering) and wet the area around and below the lower end. Suprising to me was that the last 2 inches of the open post was wet. Also surprising was that there were indications that this had been repaired before.
My questions - what's going on here? Has anyone else had moisture penetrating their rudder from the rudder post? Should the lower open end be vented somehow?
thanks
