Transducers – inside view

The angle of the outside fairing block is mirrored by another block inside the hull, which provides even support for the securing ring and helps ensure a watertight seal. The speed transducer can mount flush against the hull, but inside, requires a backing plate because the unthreaded portion of the transducer body is greater than the thickness of a 27's hull.

These units are mounted in the locker under the forward dinette seat. Ideally, they are surrounded by a 'fence' that protects them from other gear in the locker.
