battery charging system

Hi I purchased the Blue Sea ADD a Battery kit which comes with the battery switch and automatic charging relay (ACR). Has anyone else installed this withe the A4 and are there any additional wires not shown on the instruction sheet that I need to be concerned with? Thanks for any help.

Re: battery charging system

Hi Mike, sounds like you are depending only on the instructions provided with the kit. If you google "blue sea", as I did, you'll find a wealth  of diagrams, diagnostics, installation tips  etc. for each of their systems as well as FAQ's

Re: battery charging system

Hi Clare
I have been all over their website but found nothing better than the small inboard wiring diagram on the instruction sheet. I also emailed Blue Sea directly. They had nothing to add beyond what is on the diagram as well. So perhaps I am complicating this for nothing.
On a different note, I added the high temp and oil pressure warning system from Moyer Marine. Except for having to purchase a few extra brass fittings, that went in well. Should help prevent future overheating, a minor problem I had last summer.
Thanks for your input.

Much more here than an instruction sheet

Re: battery charging system

Yes I did go through all of those information sheets. But as they did not show an inboard motor I dismissed them. I will take a second look. When I get it all done, hopefully this fall, I will fill you in. Thank you again.

Re: battery charging system

Note that the captions above the circuit diagrams ("Batteries isolated", "Batteries combined through ACR", "Batteries combined through Battery Switch") are mouse-rollover controls that show the effects of different switch positions. They should be better identified, but once you find them, they give you a lot more information than it initially seems.

Re: battery charging system

I will look into that and hopefully find any missing info that I need. Thanks.
