Has anyone calculated the Gross Tonnage of a 27 ?
I estimated 5.2 tons from this site.
http://www.qualitymaritime.info/tonnage_explained.htm
I need this to fill in a Radio Station License application.

SMOKE's certificate of registry shows Gross tonnage. 5.97
Net/Registered tonnage. 5.53
The Net tonnage number is carved into the main beam, as is her Official number.
Remember these are Mk V tonnage numbers.

According to the vessel registration database, Towser is 5.95 Gross Tonnage and 5.75 Net Tonnage.
This seems a good time to note that if you have a registered vessel (boat is identified by its name rather than a number on the bow), the old blue booklet has long been obsolete and invalid. To maintain the validity of your registration, you have to let the feds know your address and they will mail you (free) a current certificate of registry every few years.
