Hi:
As you probably know by now, there aren't many C&C 27's on the west coast. Are you firmly committed to an outboard version? Wouldn't an inboard diesel enhance sailing qualities much better than an outboard hanging off one side of the transom?
Yachtworld has a nice looking inboard MkV listed in Portland, OR. check it out!

Tony

Hi Tony,
Yes I have seen it through the Yachtworld site.
As the owner, I would bring the prospective boat into a club. The boat would be, on occasion, skippered by newer sailors in training but who have not yet been inboard certified.
Ego, I would need an outboard version.
Thanks for the response!

Just a thought . . . if you find the right boat with an inboard engine, you could always mount an outboard on the stern, disconnect the inboard and remove the propeller. Then when the skippers are certified, remove the outboard and mounting brackets - and put the propeller back on!
Yes, I had the very same thought. The club will always have neophyte sailors in training. And the club management rejected this idea as having its own issues. The club boat levels are pretty specific and the club owner is quite experienced on knowing what boats will work.
Anyway thanks for the response!
