Replacing Atomic IV with a YanmarYSM12

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone has replaced an Atomic IV with a YSM12 in a CC 27 Mk III. Also if anyone has any comments on the YSM12  (+ or -) they would be appreciated.

Thanks
Bryan

The YSM12 hasn't been made for 30 years. Are you confident that you will be able to get parts down the road?

Apparently it's also rather heavy, but I have no idea how it compares with an A4.

David,

Thanks for the info. I am currently surfing around to see the avalability of parts and if anyone has done a replacement.

We have a 1980 MK III with a YSM12. With time and still today vary reliable. The only down side of that motor is the noise. We did some insulation for sound and it is better now but diesel is diesel. For the power vs the size of vessel we find it to be well balanced. Parts are still avaiable no problems.
