Hi
This is a two part question both related to the same repair.
I am wanting to replace the outside teak cabin top handrails but I can't find replacement's. The ones that west marine and a few on line stores don't have them with the same spread between holes (12"). I also need the cabin roof plugs that I had to take out (break) to access the nuts for the rails.
So can anyone tell me who supplies the rails and the plugs.
Boat is a 1984 mkv
Thanks Jim
What I did was to take my rails off and make my own.... I bought one piece of Teak the lenth and width to do both rails.... the tools I used was a hand plane, a drill press, a table saw, and a saber saw.... with a little time I had two new rails that fit great..use the best of the old rails fro a pattern... pre finish them before you install them.... that gives you a good base for maintenance.

Phone South Shore Yachts (don't e-mail) or Noah's (both on the Links and Contacts page) as both will be familiar with C&C teak rails.
Consider also moving to stainless steel rails - no more varnishing. Contact http://www.klackospars.com/ or http://www.klackomarine.ca/ .

Thanks guys
I am going to go with the stainless. It's just a mater of getting both the old teak rails off and to the stainless guy so they can be used as templates.
I still need the plugs that go in the holes in the cabin roof. Any ideas were I can get them????
Jim
I'd be interested in hearing how long it takes -- and the cost -- of having SS grabrails made. Thanks in advance.
