My question has two part. Has anyone converted manual pump to electrical?
Has anyone change their fresh water tank?
The tank on my Mrk III have a leak and can,t locate it. Looks like Iwill have to remove and fix or change.
Any comment is welcome. Thank-you!

My water tank lost water steadily. The leak turned out to be at the point where the hose joined the bottom of the tank. It wasn't doing much more than weeping, but that was enough to make a noticable difference. I think I just put a bit of Teflon tape on it.
I was going to put an electrical pump in the head for hand-washing, but a friend advised against it. He said his friend had done it and then complained that the water tank always seemed to be empty.

Although I haven't actually done this yet, one solution to that problem is to use a foot pump... hands free like electric, but easy on the water...
It's on my TODO list...

I thought about a foot pump, but couldn't figure out a type of pump and location that wouldn't cause other problems. In the end, I just replaced the Whale hand pump. Since this one actually works (the old one was a pain), I consider the problem effectively solved.

Hi Laurent,
When my original hand pump in the head area failed about 5 years ago, I replaced it with an electic pump that had an "on-off" toggle switch mounted near the faucet. As Dave commented, the water usage seemed to increase ( leaving the water running for toothbrushing and handwashing were the culprits).
Thankfully, the pump's switch failed after a year or so and I re-wired it with a push-button switch that has to be held in with one hand/finger to keep the pump running. If you go 'electric', a push-button switch is a good idea.

Wind Horse had foot pumps and hand pumps on both sinks. So far I have broken two foot pumps by accidentally kicking them. The Whales do not take any lateral motion of the lever at all. I will be keeping the hand pumps.
