Does anyone have any experience with asymmetrical spinnakers on a 27? I do not race, but cruise extensively and would like to have an easy to use spinnaker - without pole, etc.

Yes, I use one on my Trapper 500 (a variant of the 27 - we are based just South of Dublin in Ireland). Excellent for short handed sailing - we can fly it with just two of us aboard, though you need to know what you are at.
We hoist from a bag on the side deck behind the jib. The downhaul comes back to the cockpit via a block on the bow. If we know we are not going to gybe (always an interesting proposition), we usually attach only 1 sheet - makes life simpler). We normally drop into the main hatch, again best done after unfurling the jib.
Performance is excellent on a reach - as good or better than our full spinnaker. We can also hold onto it much closer to the wind - very useful in light airs. On a run, things get more difficult - it can be hard to keep flying if it gets blanketed by the main. Ours does not goosewing easily - though we have on occasion poled it out successfully - but then its the same as a spinnaker, though a bit smaller.
Hope that helps
Ronan
Thanks for your comments. Can you tell me the measurements of the asymmetrical - and your rig? "I" measurement is the important one.
