Beta Marine Diesel Replacement for A4

Has anyone looked at the Beta Marine Diesel engine as a replacement for A4...or installed one?
Was wondering about pro and cons of Beta marine vs. Yanmar?

Re: Beta Marine Diesel Replacement for A4

I looked inot the Beta marine engine for my 27 MKlll,  it is a really nice engine package and with the choice of mounts it truly is a drop in replacement.  Since it is a marinized Kabota tractor diesel, many things are available like filters are readily availble..... I did a lot of financial soul seaching and ended up doing a valve job and upgraded systems on my A4.... it now starts great and pushed my boat at 4 knots against a 50 knot breeze the day I launched this year.....
If you cannot evaluate your A4 engine have a competent mechanic look at it before you jump... the expense of going diesel is not just the engine, you have to include a new prop, etc.....
