Greetings.
We'd like you to join the C&C 27 Association, if you don't already
belong.
As a C&C 27 owner, you already know you're sailing one of the best
production boats ever built. As a registered contributor to our Web
site's Forum, you already know
- that the 27 Association's Web site tells you everything you need
to know about the history and development of the C&C 27;
- that you have instant access to the site's detailed information
on major setup and maintenance issues, along with sources for the
supplies you need to make a confident, long-lasting fix for whatever
ails your boat; and
- that whenever you need more, a network of interested 27 sailors
will give you the benefit of their experience and unbiased advice on our
lively Forum -- within days if not hours.
You may not know, though, that we need your help to keep it going. All
of the Association's work is done by volunteers, 27 owners like you,
planning, organizing, working on the Web site and so on. Hosting a Web
site, though, is not free, and hosting a photo-rich site like ours is
more expensive than hosting a simple text site. This cost must be paid
by membership fees, our only source of income and support.
Why not join the sailors from Lake Michigan to Florida who support our
site and our work to maintain interest in the C&C 27 (and support its
value). For just $25 Canadian or $20 US (check or money order), you'll
receive:
- a year's membership in the 27 Association;
- a downloadable Acrobat pdf copy of the 27 owner's manual;
- a nylon class flag you'll be proud to fly (new members only);
- a laminated membership card.
Support the 27! Support the Association!
Read our Membership Page and fill in our Membership Form. Join us today!
Sincerely,
Larry Bayer,
President

Mailed my application and cheque this evening. Don't know why I did not do it long ago. Fabulous site well worth supporting.

I have recently jumped aboard and became a member. I really enjoy the site and it has help with my questions and concerns. I was wondering if there is some kind of notification telling me that I am a member of the C&C27 association. Is there a brag flag given to members so it can be flown with the rest of the boats accomplishments?

Our noble and long-suffering Membership Secretary will send you a membership card and a flag. Ordinarily, I'd say this would happen ASAP, but the NALSMS (noble and long-suffering Membership Secretary) is in the throes (perhaps even the throws, depending on how even her temper is, given the present heat in the city) of moving, so this event will probably happen ASAHP (As Soon As Humanely Possible).

A great site which I'm happy to support----I got by for months----but finally embarrased myself----and sent a check. Got my stuff shortly thereafter----Thanks. I'm an old guy and can barely remember yesterday----is there some "renewal" advice or somesuch reminder when to re-up?Dave Tinder

I'm glad that you enjoy the site and feel that it justifies its cost.
Our membership year is basically the calendar year. Renewals have always been done informally in the spring, mostly by members strong-arming friends to cough up.
This year is the first in which we've run a membership drive, basically because our costs have been more manageable in the past. For instance, Gord Timmis, brother of our noble and long-suffering Membership Secretary, hosted our web site at no charge. A series of outages convinced us that we had to move to a commercial hosting service; we get a lot of traffic, so it's not cheap. Our class flags have gotten expensive -- small stuff, but it adds up if there's only a small pool of members.
Next year, we will probably repeat the mass mailing to people who have registered on the Forum (this will be a one-shot deal, so it is not a reason for not registering). In addition, we will almost certainly send a reminder to current members to renew. Can't tell you just when, but thanks for bringing it up.
...But in the meantime, when are you going to send me a picture of Dawn Breaker to put in The Fleet?
