Last week I delivered a 40' Citation from north of Tampa to Ft Myers---I've been in smaller condo's. This thing has a 63' mast and a 150% that would gift wrap a C/C 27'. After 2 days in the ICW dealing with rude bridge drivers---PWC's----Scarabs---Cigarettes----and bone-heads in general---I'm in no mood to lolly-gag around--I wanna get home. The day developes a nice sea breeze of 5-10, but not enough to consistantly drive the Irwin---so the Yanmar comes on---at a comfortable 6mph. All day I've been following this guy from some 3-5 miles back. He is having a great deal of fun----wing/wing---then the chute-----then beam reach---broad---etc--etc-----. I'm kind of enjoying watching this guy----and the Nikons keep an eye on him. Since we are going in the same direction---and I'm not gaining on him I add a few turns to Yanmar---7mph. After 3 or so hours its clear that the sun is heading for the beach----so I head for a known achorage. I'm within a half mile of this guy and he takes a hard left---into "my" anchorage. I pull in and he's on the foredeck---then the cockpit---then the foredeck---etc etc. Exchanged the proper greetings---and never did see anyone else aboard. He was gone before daybreak. What else would one expect from a 27' sailor?Dave Tinder
