Hi all, I am replacing the instrument panel in our 74 27' c&c. We are not replacing the instruments just the actual wood/snth panel that has the cutouts for the instruments.
I made a detailed diagram of the wiring as I removed the original panel but I made one error. I did not accurately note the placement order of the individual gauges. To be precise I drew a diagram but did not note if it was viewed from the back or the front.
I know, not real bright! can anyone tell me the order, left to right, looking at the front of the panel the original order?
It is either oil - water temp - amps - fuel
or fuel - amps -- water temp - oil
The wire color code will determine but I just wanted a second reference.
Thanks

For what it's worth (because I don't know whether it varies from boat to boat), the panel on my 1975 Mark III (mounted in the port cockpit bulkhead under an acrylic panel aft of the locker lid) houses the oil pressure aftermost, followed by the water temperature, ammeter and then the fuel gauge furthest forward. Cheers.

Tim, I am also in the process of changing the panel. I got my sequence of the instruments correct as the others noted, but had not been careful in marking the wires. Could you please tell me which wire you have going to your amp meter?
thanks
