Diesel leaking from under winter cover

I went to inspect my boat the other day (MKV) and noticed a trickle of diesel on the hull. It seemed to originate from the area near the filler cap - since the cover was on i didn't get a chance to hop on and check the source - I imagine it may be coming from the vent - anyone have this happen in the winter?

Re: Diesel leaking from under winter cover

It's pure surmise on my part (I have an Atomic 4), but is it possible that the tank and filler were topped up too generously and cold-weather contraction of metal tanking/tubing has pushed out some of the fuel?

Yup, that's what happened to me last winter...just wait until the boat starts heating up under the tarp!  Wipe it off before it stains....
