installing new hatch on MkIII

Hi, I will pick-up  my new Lewmar hatch this afternoon and it will replace my Atkins & Hoyle . The Inside/cutout size is 1/2 inc larger than the old one, not sure if I will need/want to increase the hole yet ( will dismantle  it first ). ANyone had special issues with such a replacement?  what about a mosquito screen that can be shaped to fit around the head front bulkhead? ( I used to have a screen attached with velcro ).
I bought the medium profile thicker plexiglass and frame than the low profile ), hoping that it will interfere less that the A&H with teh jib sheets :-)
