Getting ready to ship my MK III by commercial transport overland.
Need height from keel bottom to the top of cabin.
(my boats in the water)
Also need overall shipping weight (dry if possible)
Any suggestions on support points for shippers trailer?
Also on lifting points for crane?
Thanks very much in advance!

http://www.cc27association.com/evolution.html gives you a draft figure and a side view. Use the side view to derive a percentage relationship between the "wet draft" and "air draft" to the top of the companion spray hood. Multiply the draft by that figure and you've got the height from keel to the top of the companion spray hood. Or measure directly on your boat: from the top of the companion spray hood to the water - then add the draft figure.
Shipping weight? Displacement plus 10% for water absorbed during the season and for the fact that displacement figures always err on the low side. Another 10% if you're shipping her with gear on board.
Support points for shipper's trailer? Same as your cradle, plus somewhere in the vicinity of the forward edge of the galley if midship points are being used.
Lifting points for crane? Same as at haulout. See your manual if in doubt.

I moved SMOKE by truck last year and suggest your best bet is to use a specialist trucking company that hauls boats, boats, boats.
They wanted to know what boat, where from and where to. I gave them those basic facts and they said that's fine, this is the price and schedule. She was on her cradle, and shipped securely on it, with the mast beside her.
I asked them if they wanted me to be at the shipping marina when they picked the boat up, and they said that was not necessary at all as long as I had made the arrangement with the shipping point.
All went exactly as planned, to the minute. I just met them at the destnation marina, where all was in readiness.
With the large number of C&C 27's of all Marks around North America, a specialist yacht trucker will have done them before and have the needed information.
Where are you and your boat?
