'71 C&C 27 For Sale

ize=3>FOR SALE: C&C 27 Mark I (Hinterholer boat)
oman"> ize=3>I am in the US military and after returning from Iraq I received orders to Maine. In the process, my 1971 C&C 27 became stranded in Virginia. The boat has a rubber mounted, fresh-water cooled Don Moyer Atomic 4 will all available upgrades with fewer than 90 hours. The prop, shaft, and bearing are all fairly new also. A US Coast Guard electrician rewired the boat in 2002. There is a professional repair to an original design element that left the deck-stepped mast supported by only the topside deck itself and the plywood bulkhead immediately below with a gap in the bilge between the cabin deck and the hull. This gap allowed for a “sinking” of the mast over time causing a divot in the topside deck around the mast. yes"> The mast on this boat is now supported all the way down to the hull at the keel and the topside was professionally replaced and refinished around the mast. yes"> Unfortunately I have $15k invested and cannot handle the $2500 price tag to move the boat to Maine. yes"> I have the boat listed for $6000 and will take any reasonable offer. yes"> I sailed the boat from the Neuse River in NC to Quantico VA. yes"> She is seaworthy and fun to sail. There is a Maine sail and 3 jibs. All are old and a bit tired. The topside gel coat is crazed but the hull is in decent shape considering the age. There are 3 different color coats of Interlux paint over a West System bottom so I could monitor the wear. The boat is located at Cole’s Point Plantation Marina in VA where the Potomac empties into the Chesapeake Bay. yes"> I can be reached at (207) 865-3120 or at richard.hollen@navy.mil
