My shut off cable (Mk V, Yanmar 1GM10) pulled out when I shut off my engine. What I see now is several inches of a fairly small woven wire cable attached to the shut off knob, and a courser wound wire sheath cable pulled out about an inch through the hollow bolt fitting attaching it to the instrument panel. Fortunately on the yanmar the fuel shut off is readily accessible from the engine front, so I can still use the boat.
Any thoughts as to whter or not this cable can be repaired, if not where a new one can be got?
Thanks. Barry, (Oasis, Mk V)
I'm not sure where a new one can be purchased but after making several cables for antique motorcycles I generally will not try to repair one if a manufactured one is available.

Any Yanmar dealer will have it in stock - about $50 new. The silly things are not stainless, so they all sieze up eventually.
Thanks for the advice. Barry. Oasis, 1987 Mk V
