#1 Genoa for Sale - Mark 1 Tall Mast/Mark 3

I have a HOOD Genoa, used 2 seasons, we had it on our Mark 1 Tall Mast (REIVER), which we sold  in 2004(it was either put in baby seats or take a break from sailing).  Long story, we discovered during our recent move that we still had a 2 year/season old #1 Genoa. The sail is fitted for roller furling (HARKEN Model O) and is in excellent condition New cost $1100 - first $500 OBO takes it. Give me a call (613) 687-8576

If I remember correctly it was the 170 (largest that I could have based on C&C 27 regs)

You indicate tall mast Mark 1.  I'm not familiar with that spec. is your mast the same as a Mark III (i.e. I=37').   Do you know the exact luff length?  I'm going to see if I can find out what size luff tape a Harken Model 0 uses, unless you alread know?

Chris,
The mast on my Mark 1 was 2 1/2 feet shorter than the Mark 3.  If you are intetersted in the sail, let me know andfI will pull it out and measure it.  I can also take pics of it for you

Sounds like your mast is 2.5' shorter than mine, which likely makes the sail luff about 2.4' shorter than what I need.  If yours is a deck sweeper (unlikely with the furling gear) it might be ok on my boat, as I have an Ultrafurl that means the tack sits about 12" off the deck at the bow.  My luff length should be about 35.7'.

Chris:

The sail was designed as a "deck sweeper" - it was our #1 for racing.  The HARKEN O system allows you to either use the foil or the roller furling - the sail was designed to use the foil.  We used it with the roller furling a few times.  When we raced, it was tacked to the stem plate and ran to 6 inches of the head. When on the roller furling, she fit head to furler.  It would fit a Mark 3 will little difficulty, but you may find it is 1 - 1 1/2 feet short of the masthead.

Let me know if you wantthe full measurements, I will pull it out and send them to you.

Sounds like it may be very interesting.  Hate to ask you to pull it all out......but the luff length would be nice to know.  I haven't been able to find what size luff tape (i.e. #5 or #6) that a Harken 0 uses, any ideas?

Manual for my Harken 0 shows No. 6 (6/32" or 5mm) luff tape.

Sail measurements are as follows:

Foot = 19'6"
Luff = 33'7"
Leech = 32'7"

The sail was a 163% for a Mark 1 (Tall Rig)

Pictures are available if you send me your e-mail address

Thanks for all the effort Dave.  Sorry to say that does make the sail about 4' to short on the luff to fit my boat, I think it would look and preform rather poorly.
To Bad I could have used a new head sail.
