I recently purchased a C&C27 MK V hull 485.
Any info on wiring the new compass (from West Marine, Saturn, two wire)(old one leaked until it went sideways)? Old compass had two lights but I don't know if they worked, crimped into a white and green/white. Nav instruments breaker only seem to affect knotmeter/depth when checking with multimeter. Manual onboard indicates compass wired with blower for atomic 4, but I have a 1GM10 Yanmar diesel. Any suggestions on how it might be wired or how to wire it?? No other breakers on the panel seemed to affect the two wires leading to the compass. (I did a search for compass wiring, installation, but got no results)
By the way, my C&C27 is the sweetest thing, I know why she has a following.
Thankyou, Peg and "Binky"
Hi. I cannot help with respect to the compass issue. But you might want to have a look at some of the discussion in the Rule Changes discuusion link. It may be that you don't have hull 485, just as I appear not to have hull 575.

The compass on Wind Horse is wired with the running lights. I'm not sure I like the setup and may set it up on seperate circuit with it's own switch.

Have you read the wiring diagram on the Sea Change page? It indicates that there should be a push/pull switch somewhere for the light (on the same breaker circuit as the blower, but separately switched).
Also, please read the page on HIN's in Black Arts. That should clarify the numbers issue.

Thanks for the tips. Appears I have the same wiring diagrams. Couldn't locate a separate compass push-pull switch, just the one on the ignition panel that was for the Atomic 4 blower, maybe?, that I don't have. Will use an inspection mirror to look for the fuse in the wiring diagram via the access hole in the liner. Nothing coming off the starter that looks like it is wired to the compass. I think I'd rather go sailing than dig into the fuse panel, at least for now. And it appears I have hull 036.
Thanks, Peg and "Binky"
