To All Mk V Owners!
Here's some more info about the 2005 Carafe WineMaker's C&C 27Mk V North Americans...This year's event follows on the footsteps of the very successful 2003/4 events. The Regatta is hosted by the Barrie Yacht Club located on the north shore of Kempenfelt Bay. The format is one of 3, 4 leg races on a windward/leeward course. Racing is followed by a barbeque where for only $10.00/boat, we supply the bread and side dishes, just bring your favorite BBQ item to throw on the grill. The bar of course is open. As always, the generous prizes supplied by Carafe will certainly be a highlight of the awards ceremony!
Already, we've got 8 Mk V's coming to enjoy all the racing action and post race activities!
Boats coming from out of town are welcome to come a few days prior to the regatta and join in our Wednesday night race to tune up!
Remember, there is a free boat and mast crane for those who need it!
Check out www.byc.on.ca for the race instructions (to be posted soon), more details and previous results.
Hope to see you here on Saturday June 11th 2005, Skipper's meeting 9:00am

How long do you think it would take to get a boat from Lake Ontario up to lake simcoe?
Would the mast have to be taken down?
The bridges on the 400 aren't that high. You'll probably be happier if you take the stick down.
(By water*, I've heard of people doing the trip as a delivery in 4-5 days from Trenton, but they say it's exhausting. You still have to take the mast down.)

Ironic that something designed to keep the Americans out should now bring them in droves.

Well, guys...Coming from Galviston, you'd best want to make it a 2-3 week vacation. A couple days either side to trailer the boat up and down, and a couple weeks enjoying the area. Anything less and you're short changing yourself. I'll buy you the beer when you get here!
For those in the Southern Ontario area, last year one of the owners here had extended the use of his trailer to those needing a ride up here, yes you'll have to take your mast down, but we can put your mast up and boat in for free at this end. The Trent Severn is also a beatiful way of doing it whether you are coming from Geogian Bay or Lake Ontario.
Were up to 8 boats, lets make it 10+ boys....
