Fairing block for depth sounder

The depth transducer should point straight down when the boat is on an even keel, so it will give an accurate reading. Therefore it must be mounted at an angle to the hull.

This block is made from a plastic called Starboard, which can be sawn, routed and drilled (but not sanded). It could as easily have been made from epoxy-saturated wood.
