C&C 27 Association – Keelbolt Torque Values

A Forum discussion of keelbolt torque values produced two expert sources that are in rough agreement.

1/2 Inch = 80 lbs
3/4 Inch = 250 lbs
1 Inch = 350 lbs
1.25 Inch = 400 lbs

An inquiry to MarsKeel, the moulder of C&C's keels, produced the following:

"Regarding the bolt torque, here are the specs based on bolt size:
1/2" - 90 ft. lbs. ,
3/4" - 250 ft.lbs. ,
1" - 350 ft. lbs.
Please be careful in tightening as if the bolts are fatigued based on age
this should be taken into consideration.
