Pads

Pads are mounted on 1.25" threaded rod. The galvanized adjusting nut doesn't bear on the top of the square section, but on a length of pipe welded inside the square section. The range of adjustment is sufficient to allow for slightly uneven placement and for easy access when painting.

One of the minor disadvantages of Marine Cradle Shop's dominance of the local market is that it can be difficult to find your cradle in a large yard. When repainting, a distinctive color holds advantages, though a markedly distinctive color, such as the pink initially proposed for this cradle, may strain relations with the rest of the crew.
