1984 C&C27 Mk5 for sale. I would like to sell the boat before I have to haul it and pay the winter storage costs.

Boat is located in Oswego New York USA (south shore of Lake Ontario).

The boat needs some TLC and so I am asking 10,900 US if bought before end of this month(September) Otherwise I have to get it out of it's slip and onto the hard.

E mail me at   whitewick5@twcny.rr.com   for pics and equipment list.

Thanks

I have used them for the genoa winch and still use them for the halyard winches.

I think they would be fine for cruising once your crew understands that the last wrap has to be tight to the underside of the blue "thingy" and the the last wrap of the sheet needs to led off as it comes around.

They need a lot of soap to get them on and there is a right side up as I recall.

I have the self tailing Anderson 28's. A bit expensive but I like them.

Hi Dave,

The original owner of my 1984 MK-5 replaced his fixed pitch prop with the Gori when he had the boat. When I bought the boat from the second owner I was not able to get more than 2300 RPM on the engine. I checked back with the second owner and he confirmed that he too could not get the engine above 2300RPM.

I thought something was wrong with the engine and tried everything the experts suggested might be the problem. The list is to long to mention.

Finally, in desperation, I tampered (adjusted) the engine governor thingy, the one that is safety wired that we are not supposed to mess with. That did the trick and I now can get 3600 max RPM.

Just mentioning my experience as something you may have to consider when making the change from Gori to fixed pitch prop.

I have no noticable engine rattle or vibration with my Gori. Of course never ran it with a fixed prop so can't make a comparison in that regard.

#7 General discussion » Mk5 Sail Dimension? » 2011-05-28 04:09:07

I plan on removing my roller furling unit and purchasing a used hank on racing head sail for my C&C 27 MK -5 and need to know the sail dimensions for a 155% head sail.

Does anyone know what their 155% head sail dimensions are for the Luff, leech and Foot? This would be for a racing sail not a furling head sail.

Thanks
