Thanks that gives me something to troubleshoot.
My transmission does not engage in forward or rear. The transmission shifter works and moves clearly forward and aft. I heard a noise and it sounded like a massive slip or breakage. I need to access the transmission box, but does anyone have tips or suggestions? Does anyone have experience replacing the transmission without hauling out the engine (as I am able to pick up a cheap replacement in our club)? I know what the transmission access plate looks like and I understand the operation of the forward 3 finger teeth versus the reverse drum actuation. The fact that it works in neither direction does not bode well?
That is very good advice and it makes sense. I will try to investigate that further with a hose. Incidentally it has been raining today and no new water, kind of strange so perhaps it was really a winter accumulation.
Does anyone have experience removing and resealing the mast step plate on a Mark 3? I found some water dripping through this spring and want to remove the mast step mounting plate. There are 4 bolts. The 2 aft bolts are very accessible, but the forward bolts (countersunk) seem to go into an inaccessible area in the boat. There is a possibility they attach to captured nuts, but I do not really want to chance it.
Any suggestion from someone who has had to do this before?

SKAL CC M3
I am interested in purchasing a used racing #1 Genoa for a CC27 M3, as long as it is in the 3-5 year age.
Possibly someone is upgrading and want's to make room in their basement?
Anyone have experience using a Dacron # 1 as a racing sail? Good or Bad?
Hi,
Still looking for sails? I have a M3 main that is OK and a furling jib (145%). Both are usable but I bought new sails for racing.

Thanks for the feedback! I was thinking that an 11" diameter would be better and seem to have heard that 5" pitch might be more than enough. It helps when I know that is the exact configuration you are running. How is it in reverse?

Martec is recomending a 12x6x7/8 MKIII folding prop for an Atomic four on a C&C M3.
Any suggestions? It is the only folding prop I could possibly afford. I have hard good things about them, but size and pitch ratios are critical to engine performance.
Thank you for your comments and replies. The contractor has assured me it will be fine...hmmm.
I guess I now have to spend money on a surveyor to properly access any possible damage.
A contractor leaned my boat forward in order to remove my rudder for repairs in the fall. The rudder has still not been replaced and the boat sits on a forward lean still. This placed a lot of load on the cradle support pads towards the bow. I noticed that there is quite a bit of deformation on the hull around the bow side pads. The contractor obviously does not think this is a problem, but I am concerned. Today I added a jackstand at the center line between the bow pads to take some of the load. Does anyone have experience with this? Will the hull regain it's shape?
