Just wanted to refresh this posting.
Boat still for sale. Boat is in good shape. Well equipped. Nice interior.
Asking $20K.
Hi David,
the problem is that at least one of the magnets has fallen off, which is what causes the wrong speed read-outs. The relative speed still works, which is the important thing, once you get an idea of what the new target speeds should be.
Nevertheless, would be good to get this fixed.
Mike: I believe the knotmeter is made by Danagate, and the model is called Danavigate. I don't think these guys are in business anymore.
Thanks
>>Your broken wheel probably had six blades so if you can't find a replacement wheel, just multiply the indicated speed by 6/5ths
Funny!
Actually, what prompted me to look into it, was that last summer, all of a sudden I was going a lot slower (not just 5/6ths) - at least that's what the knotmeter said. Initially I thought someone had just bumped their knee against the display. So I went to recalibrate it, but it would take a lot of calibration to get it back where it should be.
While checking the undersides of the boat, I noticed that the paddlewheel on the impeller for the knotmeter needs to be replaced.
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement? I have not taken the impeller itself out yet, but I'm hoping to be able to replace just the paddle wheel.
The paddle wheel itself still spins, but one of the small paddles has broken off.

for an extra good time, try it while under way.
you may also want to check the holding tank underneath the v-birth, to see that there isn't a leak. This would correlate somewhat with the previous "foul-smell" post.
If it leaks, unfortunately, it will get stuck in this area.
Did you try looking in through the small door under the V-birth?
Remove the V-birth cuhsion and the board closer to the bulk head. Open the small door, and look to see if you see any water there.
If you are more of a contortionist, you can crawl under the V-virth as it is, poke your head up to the door and see what's in there.
Let me know if you find water there.
How C&C didn't make allow for some draining between there and the bilge is a bit of a mistery. Putting the knotmeter transducer in the easily accessible spot is also an interesting choice.
Hi Mike,
good luck.
Congrats Steve.
It was a great weekend with some close finishes and mark roundings. Too bad about the short storm on Sunday.
We are coming. Could not pass up on the Free Parking :-)
